ArtConTex held its highly successful inaugural event at the Minories in Colchester in early October 2025. Visitor numbers exceeded expectations, and the enthusiastic response was overwhelming.

Twenty textile artists and groups were selected to represent the breadth of contemporary textile practice across Essex and Suffolk—and they certainly STITCHED UP THE MINORIES!

The event was curated to showcase groups that came under the umbrella of the old Embroiderers' Guild network, as well as the exquisite traditional silk embroidery of Helen M. Stevens and groups with over 40 years of exhibiting experience, to those exhibiting for the first time. Individual artists ranged from the conceptual art of Sue Gascoyne to the quilt art of Sara Impey, who has work in museum collections.
